Eric Bibb & Ruthie Foster    Premium $28 General $23 adv./door $25
A performance by Eric Bibb is an enriching experience – both musically and spiritually. Purveying a beautifully realised and deftly accomplished, soulful and gospel infused, folk- blues, Eric has no problem melding a traditional rootsy American style with a subtle contemporary sensibility. As one critic wrote “ Eric’s singing and versatile guitar playing fuses a variety of genres to become a New World Blues”."Like the old spoonful-of-sugar-helps-the-medicine-go-down trick, Ruthie Foster's voice is so full of hallelujah, you sometimes have to listen to her songs two or three times before you realize she's singing the blues. 'I believe my soul's found a happy home,' she declares on the title track to her third album, quickly following it with the kicker, 'and left me waiting here to suffer on my own.' That's Runaway Soul in a nutshell: not so much a happy union of gospel and blues as a riveting tug-of-war between the two, with Foster's powerhouse voice caught in the middle as the prize. Self-penned tunes prove that Foster, a Gause native who's been working the folk circuit for more than a decade, can hold her own as a songwriter, but it's as a singer that she truly dazzles..."-Richard Skanse, Texas Music Magazine

Big Bottle Month  *   None
November is Big Bottle Month at Larson Family Winery! Carolyn Craig, winemaker at Larson, has bottled some of her delicious 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon and popular 2003 Meritage into large format bottles – 1.5, 3, 6 and 9 liter bottles! With the holidays upon us, now is the perfect time to purchase one or more of these bottles. They make wonderful gifts, and really add something special to any meal that is shared with family and friends. For the month of November, 20% of the big bottle net sales will be donated to the Sonoma Valley Mentoring Alliance. Supply is limited, so hurry down because you know what they say at Larson, “We drink what we can and sell the rest!”. The wines are exclusively available at either of the Larson’s two tasting rooms located at 23355 Millerick Road in Sonoma, just off Hwy 121, and at Larson at Cornerstone, 23570 Arnold Drive/Hwy in Sonoma (look for the big blue chairs). For more information call (707)938-3031 xt.20, or check out their website at www.larsonfamilywinery.com, and click on the big bottle.

Cyclo Cross Cycling Event  *   free
This weekend is the second official companion event of the Amgen Tour of California. Please join us at the CYCLO-CROSS races at Youth Community Park on Fulton Road in Santa Rosa. The race will go on rain or shine, complete with nearly 200 cyclists, a great blues band, barbeque, and a rockin’ great time. These races are FUN to watch and unlike any traditional race you’ve ever seen! What is Cyclo-Cross?Cyclo-cross (sometimes cyclocross, CX, cyclo-X or 'cross) is a form of bicycle racing. Races typically take place in autumn and winter (the international or "World Cup" season is September-January), and consists of many laps of a short (2.5–3.5 km or 1.5–2 mile) course featuring pavement, wooded trails, grass, steep hills, and obstacles requiring the rider to quickly dismount, carry the bike while navigating the obstruction, and remount in one motion. Adding to the fun, costumes and heckling from the crowd is strongly encouraged!
